About the artist
Stephanie Flores is a teacher-turned-artist who has a passion for painting very small things. She also has an intense loathing for referring to herself in third person POV.
She began her mini painting journey as a child, but after a tumultuous experience involving an unprimed metal model and some very slime-like enamel paint, didn’t get back into the hobby until her college years. Since then, her knack for a creative hobby has grown into a full-time profession. She loves to decode color theory, and is currently up against a crippling decade-long fixation on the ways that color and light interact with each other.
Her painting involves storytelling, mused by the inference of atmospheric lighting. Her preferred medium is acrylic, with the occasional use of oils. Some of the most-used techniques in her work are underpainting, non-metallic metal, and object source lighting. While she appreciates refined and delicate brushwork, she also feels the most alive when throwing paint down and going bananas in a very wet-blendy type of way.
She is active on Instagram and TikTok, with plans to return to Youtube eventually-ish. She takes on private and commercial commissions selectively, and has a preference for box arts and Kickstarters. Stephanie recently revisited her background in education and began teaching miniature painting classes at various conventions across the United States. She runs an online teaching academy where she uploads masterclass tutorials.
Stephanie lives with her family in Oregon, US. In her spare time, she likes to knit semi-itchy sweaters and watch distasteful reality TV.
